brosistaylorVictory Tabernacle is a Spirit-filled 21st century, New Testament church that began in 1956 as Huntsville Pentecostal Church, with its pastor, Reverend Marvin Taylor. With the blessings of the Lord upon them, they quickly outgrew the little white wood-framed building on Hall Street and bought land and built on 6th Avenue just a block or two away. 6th Avenue Pentecostal Church was pastored by Brother Taylor until he moved to Michigan in 1966.

With the burden still in his heart for Huntsville, in 1981 he accepted the pastorate of a small work (six people) in a store front building on Kildare Street in northeast Huntsville. By 1984, Apostolic Faith Tabernacle had out-grown their small building and purchased and began construction on Maple Hill Pentecostal Church, located in southeast Huntsville behind Maple Hill Cemetery. In 1985, Brother Don Johnson dedicated the new building and congregation to the work of the Lord in our great city.

The Lord wonderfully blessed this work and many souls were called to the Kingdom of God. Many young men received their callings to the ministry there and are still involved in the great work of God.

As the congregation continued to grow, we knew another building would be needed to accommodate the growth. Soon four acres of property were purchased at 2620 Blue Spring Road, and Victory Tabernacle was raised up to the Glory of God. We dedicated this present facility and property in 1996.

In 1997, Bishop Marvin Taylor became Pastor Emeritus and his grandson, Troy Taylor, who had assisted and been part of the work since 1981, was installed as the new Pastor. The church has continued to grow and we have had to enlarge our present facilities (5000 sq. ft. addition) to accommodate greater Sunday School and fellowship needs. We have since purchased two adjoining acres next to the church and have hopes to build a new Family Life Center on this property in the future.

We are thankful to God for His manifold blessings that have rested upon His work here in Huntsville. We have seen countless miracles, healings, and lives changed by the mercy and grace of God. Numerous churches have been started out of this work, being pastored by men out of this congregation.

We anticipate a great future, should the Lord tarry His coming, for the congregation and great church family of VT. It is our desire to see a mighty revival and move of God come to North Alabama and all around the world that will precede and help usher in the great and glorious return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. By His help and grace, we will see it!
